The Learning Object - What is it and How is it Structured?

A Learning Object is stand alone unit of learning - a relatively small, bite sized unit of learning that can be studied on its own.

The Learning Object that you are studying is broken up into a number of parts.

Introduction

Here you will discover what the Learning Object is about and what you can expect to learn.

Starter Interaction

Here you will do an interaction that will 'get you thinking' about the subject you are studying.

Instruction & Interaction

In the Learning Object, you will find that there are instruction pages followed by an interaction.

The interactions are a chance for you to see if you have understood what you have read or learnt.

Summary Self-Assessment

Towards the end of the Learning Object, after you have read the instruction and tried all of the interactions, you will try a self-assessment activity that allows you to see for yourself what you have learnt in the Learning Object.

Off Line Task

In this section, you will be instructed to complete a task away from the computer or 'off line'.
