Splash Page

The splash page content block is usually used to create the first page in a Learning Object. On this page you can greet the learner and give them key information such as the title of the Learning Object. Images can be used to support the title.

Note: To create a splash page, you only need to use the splash page content block. No other content blocks are required.

If you select the splash page content block you will be required to:

  • Enter a splash page heading. This is usually the Learning Object title
  • Upload an image for the banner (see image above). Do this by selecting 'Browse' and Pedagogue Explorer will appear in situ
  • Click on the radio button to the left of the asset and you will see its name appear on the form you are editing

Note: The image will need to have been uploaded as an asset to Pedagogue.

Note: The banner image needs to be 736 pixels x 116 pixels. If the image you upload is not the correct size it will scale to fit the space but it will be squashed or stretched to fit.

Note: CDSM have supplied a default banner image. You may choose to keep this, but it will be changed if you upload a new banner image to the splash page content block.

  • Upload a thumbnail image (see image above). Do this by selecting 'Browse' and Pedagogue Explorer will appear in situ.
  • Click on an asset and you will see its name will appear on the form you are editing.

Note: The image will need to have been uploaded as an asset to Pedagogue.

Note: The thumbnail image needs to be 230 pixels x 176 pixels. If the image you upload is not the correct size it will scale to fit the space but it will be squashed or stretched to fit.

Note: CDSM have supplied a default thumbnail image. You may choose to keep this, but it will be changed if you upload a new thumbnail image to the splash page content block.

  • Add alt text for the thumbnail image for accessibility purposes
  • Save or cancel your entries using the on screen buttons
