Each Learning Object is presented in manageable chunks so that students can spend as little as five or ten minutes on the PC at a time and follows tried and tested learning design, with:
- A starter interaction
- An introduction which sets the learning objectives
- Four sections of instruction and assessment for learning using text, images, animations, video and interactive activities
- A self-assessment activity
- A Learning Object assessment that your Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) will record, if you have one*
- An off-line task to be done away from the computer and marked by the teacher
*Note that a virtual learning environment (VLE) is not required to run the courseware. We can deliver on CD ROM, across your school network, from your web site or within your VLE if you have one.

Each Learning Object is also provided in Word document format for flexibility. The Word document covers the same content in the same order. This may be useful for students who do not have access to ICT or who want to mix and match ICT-based work and paper-based work.
