People & Places is a secure website and online portfolio for people with learning disabilities.

It promotes and encourages the building of relationships between friends, family members, fellow learners, work colleagues and support workers.

By interacting and communicating with an online community of People & Places provides a secure environment for people with common interests to meet, discuss issues, share multimedia content about themselves and their experiences, their interests and attributes and to build a permanent set of relationships between friends and peer group community members.

The tools in the platform enable users to carry out a number of learning and development tasks. It enables communication via video, audio, symbols and text and graphics. Users are provided a folder structure that can enable a portfolio approach to the recording and evidencing of personal and academic achievements. There are time and activity management planner tools in the system that enable users to organise event driven activities as they choose, and indeed, share these with friends, family members or support workers.
