Our passion is learning technologies. It has been since we started the company back in 1998. Founded by professional teachers and trainers; the company is committed to creating and supplying effective solutions for learning and development organisations. We work with schools, training organisations, corporate training departments because at the centre of their challenge is the learning process and at the heart of that is the learner. A challenge we relish and take very seriously indeed.
At CDSM we are fortunate to have fantastic strength-in-depth when it comes to our people. Not only do we have great learning designers but first-class software developers and usability designers. Our main office is located between two excellent universities, Swansea and Swansea Metropolitan, and for those that are interested we have a first class graduate recruitment policy when searching for new members to join our team.
The majority of our business revenue now comes from our products however we spent many years delivering contract services to pay the bills! During that time we met some great people, retaining friendships and learning a huge amount about learning technology projects supplying the likes of the BBC, Ufi Learndirect, Legal and General, National Assembly for Wales, MoD, DWP, DfES and most recently Cambridge University Press.
About 5 years ago we made what turned out to be a momentous decision, to stop 'selling' our skills and experience on a project-by-project basis. We decided to develop our own learning technology products. This decision has made a huge difference to us and to our customers. At its most simple it has meant that our customers benefit in a far greater way when working with us now. Our customers become beneficiaries of the collective intelligence, development and value that has accrued over the years in our products. This means more of our customers are happier for far longer periods, because errors are ironed out, accessibility is improved and usability is progressively enhanced release by release.
The increase in adoption of learning technologies over the last 5 years in nearly all business sectors in the UK has enabled us to focus on the design and development of 3 great products. Our target end-user audiences are wide and diverse. From a learning perspective we supply solutions that support a spectrum of people and abilities, from those who are described as learning disabled (SEN) right through to post -graduate learners and professionals.
Over the years our company has won awards for its design capabilities and for its rapid growth in our regional economy. It has successfully attracted institutional investment and today we continue to grow and develop as a sustainable business. With 30 full time staff, numerous associates and excellent technical and commercial partnerships we are able to deliver to our commitments effectively and professionally.
We work very effectively as partners in supply chains where the customer's requirement is significant such as was BSF or as is the New Academy contracts with UK schools. We are equally effective when leasing to an authority or single school implementation independent of partners. CDSM has its own sales and customer service staff as well as service help desk so we can deliver a solution into a school or authority without relying on third parties for any part of our service. This means we have complete control over the quality of service and solution we deliver.
